NAWS Medical Association Membership
Providing hope to homeless pets in need of medical care.
A Unique Opportunity to Make a Difference!
Our Founder, Stacy Gaskins, has maintained a vision to create an affordable medical program since before NAWS was even formed.
The sad reality is that there are far more homeless pets that are sick, injured, and have chronic illnesses than any pet rescue group can financially care for. Because of lack of funds, most of these pets are turned away or have to be humanely euthanized to alleviate suffering. It is heart-wrenching to have to be the people making that decision, when you know that the vast majority of these pets could have been saved and placed into loving homes, they just needed appropriate medical care.
Now that NAWS has a veterinary clinic, and we have found amazing veterinarians willing to help, we have a chance at truly creating something very special. By creating an association of pet-loving individuals that are willing to commit to a specific monthly donation, which would allow us to budget in advance for specific expenditures, we can take this to the next level by purchasing much-needed medical equipment, medications, surgical supplies, nursing supplies, the list goes on and on. This would allow us to accept many more cats and dogs into our rescue program, as well as providing an opportunity to prevent owners from having to euthanize their pets due to being faced with unaffordable unforeseen illnesses or injuries.
In addition, we have an opportunity to create a Council of Members that our Founder will confer with when special needs arise such as a NAWS rescue pet with a need for specialty medical care or significant hospitalization, which would provide Council Members with the ability to donate and help one-off cases as they choose. The possibilities to grow this program are endless!
The dream has become a reality and this unique Association has been put into place. How far we can go with it, only time will tell but all Association members will be kept apprised of the status on a regular basis, and together we will continue this incredible journey.
